POP ART PORTRAIT

Picture
The pop art portrait project took a lot of time and had a long process but the outcome was worth all the work. At first we chose a picture,  preferable a picture in black and white  that had shadows and show clearly the different tones. The next step was to divide the picture in small squares, so it will be more easy to draw in the canvas. When the canvas was also divided into squares we draw the picture, in this case Barack Obama, in to the canvas. When the picture was done we trace the different tones of colors in the picture and divided it with numbers to see which part will be of certain tone of paint. Then, we created different tones of blue, and paint it. The laste step was to paint the background and cover the guide lines that have been done previously.
One of the main objectives of this project was to learn to draw a portrait; from a picture to a canvas. This project help us learn techniques to draw and also paint with different shades and tones. We also learn about pop art and how it was reflected in this project. We learn the different characteristics pop art has and some other information about that type or art.

GRID DRAWING

Picture
This project, grid drawing is some kind of similar to the pop art portrait but it also differs in  lots of aspects. We take a picture from a magazine and divided it into squares of the same measurements. Then we translate the picture into the paper following its figure. Finally we painted the drawing with the same colors from the picture.
Grid drawing was some kind of easy and help us improve our drawing and also coloring techiniques. This projects help us organize time because each class we are assigned to do a certain part of the project, if we lose time the realization of the project is affected. This was an interesting ad fun project to do because we were able to chose any picture we want, and in this case the picture has lots of details which made it a little more complicated.

FINISH THE PICTURE

Picture
We pick some part of a picture in a magazine and cut it out; that is how "finish the picture project" started. I chose a hummingbird picking polem from the flowers. So, I decided to complete the picture with more flowers. The flowers I drew were bigger and had other details too. I painted it using the colors from the original picture and added a background just painting it green.
This project allow us to use our creativity. We created new things we imagine will fit in the picture and make it nicer and good looking. I've never dont something similar in art and so I think it is a really good project that I will like to repeat. Like all art projects with this project we improved our drawing and colring techniques and also our creativity.
